Bora's Journey to Become an Application Developer in Olympia
Last Updated: July 28th 2021
Today we'd like to share Bora Kim's inspiring story, in her own words. Bora joined Nucamp's Full Stack Web and Mobile Bootcamp in January 2018.
"Let me briefly tell you my story.
I immigrated to the U.S. one year ago. I have experience in the IT industry in my home country. With no degree from an American university and no experience working at a U.S.-based company, I struggled to find a job in my industry. I decided to expand my education in the U.S.
I had invested many hours in becoming proficient in front-end development, but didn’t find any success in my job search. I finally decided to supplement my education. At first I attempted to take an online course, but found it difficult to stay motivated and follow the course to completion. When I found Nucamp, it was the right mix of structured team learning and self-study that helped me acquire the front-end development skills I was looking for.
After enrolling in Nucamp, I was offered a job with Washington State as an Application Developer. I felt like it was almost a miracle. I will not say Nucamp gave me the job, but I’m sure it kept me motivated to study and become a trendy developer. In addition, during my job interview I mentioned my bootcamp experience and it gave my interviewers a good impression.
I strongly recommend Nucamp. If you are looking for a bootcamp course to expand your experience, the price cannot be compared to any other.
So, why not spend it on your future career?"
