JPMorgan Chase Emerging Software Engineer Program. Partnership with Nucamp

Land your first development job with JPMorgan Chase's Emerging Talent Software Engineer Program

On episode #29 of Campfire: Nucamp's CEO, Ludo Fourrage met with JPMorgan Chase Recruiter, Angie del Castillo, and JPMorgan Chase Software Engineers, Jose Lozano and Charles Nichols.

They spoke about JPMorgan Chase's Emerging Talent Software Engineer program for entry-level web developers and how you can set yourself up for success landing your first job in tech.

The program is a full-time, entry-level, in-person position that provides a paid learning environment to those hired to join the program.

JP Morgan Chase focuses on those who come from non-traditional career paths, such as coding bootcamp graduates, those re-entering the workforce, or even self-taught individuals.

There are currently two cohorts per year with the next application window opening in January 2023 for an April 2023 hire date.

Angie’s advice for building your resume is to highlight the tech stack you are most proficient with, where you learned your coding skills (e.g. Nucamp Coding Bootcamp, YouTube course, etc.), and to highlight any projects you have completed.

Everyone who applies receives a screening interview consisting of a coding challenge on HackerRank.com and a video interview on HireVue with behavioral and analytical questions (e.g. If you were faced with Y problem how would you solve it?).

Angie emphasized that in this round of interviews they focus on getting to know you so make sure to tell your story to help them understand your coding journey and your “why”.

From there, a select amount of applicants will be moved onto the next round which is a 12-hour virtual hackathon.

This experiential interview is in place to access your hard and soft skills as well as for you to get a chance to see what it is like to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The JPMorgan Chase Emerging Talent Software Engineer program is a great way to get your foot in the door at a Fortune 500 company, on-the-job experience, training, and career advancement.
