Growing up in a home that held education in high regard, along with having technology at her fingertips at an early age, Candice eventually dove into creating her own web development agency and has expanded her services to include Mentorship for entry-level developers.

Passion for Education and a Journey to Web Development

Early on, Candice developed a love for education thanks to an incredible role model in her mother who was a teacher throughout her life. This spurred on a genuine desire to help others in their learning journey and made her a “firm believer in the power of knowledge sharing”.

For a time, she focused on her love of teaching and taught STEM & Mathematics at a local Science Academy in the Dallas area. Eventually she decided to pivot and dive into her passion for Web Development.

One of the main catalysts for this change was feeling the need to it to prioritize her young family.

Being a mom brought significant changes to her life and led her to re-evaluate her teaching career. Although she loved teaching, the demands of the job left her drained by the end of the day. So, the transition to Web Development and eventually freelance work offered her a better work-life balance, ultimately changing the course of her career.

After two years of being a self-taught web developer, when it came time to learning JavaScript, it proved to be more challenging than expected.
