After Trademark Dispute, Lambda School Renamed Bloom Institute of Technology
Last Updated: June 5th 2024
Lambda School recently lost their trademark lawsuit forcing them to change names. (see https://twitter.com/fulligin/status/1460431775864262656) They're now called Bloom Institute of Technology or BloomTech.
With this name change comes a new Money Back guarantee, 110% of your tuition, (which feels like a not-so-subtle marketing ploy, by the way, who will offer 115% next?)
Please look at the requirements for this Money Back guarantee, available here.
Or, better yet, just read this extract. TRG stands for Tuition Refund Guarantee.
"PROCESS IF TRG IS DENIED
If BloomTech determines you have not met all eligibility requirements for the TRG, it will deny your request in writing. BloomTech will consider all requests in good faith, but is not required to provide any reasoning on its decision to you. Any denial is final."
Get this: you can do everything you think was needed to receive the money-back guarantee. Bloom Institute of Technology (BloomTech) can deny it, without providing any reason, and offering any appeal or recourse, besides going to the courts (arbitration).
Also its ISAs and its misrepresentation of job placements rates have been the subject of lawsuits over the years.
So why risk it when you can get a better education with Nucamp for one-tenth of the price?
We’re confident we can help you make that career shift and encourage you to compare what Nucamp's online coding bootcamps have to offer.
