What Happened Late One Sunday Evening
Last Updated: January 8th 2023
"Why did she just send a screen shot with no text?" I asked myself as I looked at Zandra's Slack message to the Nucamp team.
As a Nucamp Advisor and Student Advisor, Zandra is more than practiced at noticing the details.
Anytime she sends me a message, I always start asking myself "What about this?" or "What about that?", but all I have to do is finish reading what she writes—because she always answers my questions—the details don't slip by her.
There had to be something I was missing.
This is important. I clicked on the screen shot to enlarge it.
After seeing the image, a thought floated through my head: "Of course Zandra was the first to notice."
"Damn! What should we do?" asked Ludo in the chat.
Was it a good "damn" or a bad "damn"? Ludo doesn't use a measure of strong language without intent.
"You mean to celebrate? Or is there some plan limit we're about to reach?" asked Minae, Nucamp's Product lead, mindfully aware of the possibilities.
I cannot find a plan limitation on the website, so this must be a milestone that we should celebrate," replied Paul Turner, Nucamp's Student Success Manager, "...with crème brulée."
"I meant to celebrate ;)," replied Ludo.
Relief.
"It's so hard to find a really good crème brulée," added Ludo.
We were so close on that Sunday evening:
A week later the next cohort had joined and we blew past 10,000 Slack community members!
Paul was right, and we are celebrating.
A HUGE thanks to all our students, graduates, and instructors that make our Slack community awesome!
