How a busy mom pivoted her career after completing a full stack bootcamp

From Sales and Management to Owner, Web Developer and Funnel Expert, Oshi Web Solutions.

"This is the best thing that ever happened to me. I can now say "I am web developer," and I couldn't say that after I got a bachelor's degree."

This is Hayat Mohammed, a Nucamp Full Stack Bootcamp graduate and now a Web Developer, Funnel Expert, and Owner of Oshi Web Solutions.

Being a working mom of three during the pandemic, Hayat knew the flexibility and pay in the tech industry would be the competitive advantage she needed.

Hayat wasn't leveraging her 5-year-old Computer Science Degree while working in sales and management.

The lack of return on investment from her degree plus the pandemic hitting urged her to scale her passion for tech again.

Completing the Full Stack Web and Mobile Development bootcamp gave her the necessary skills to build her freelancing portfolio.

The sweat equity Hayat put in paid off as her client based grew large enough for her to launch her own business, Oshi Web Solutions.

"I learned a lot in that 6 months time and I enjoyed every bit it."

Why Nucamp?

Prior to the bootcamp searching, Hayat was trying to self-educate.

She would buy self-paced courses but would often run into problems with outdated material, outdated tools, and wasted runway trying to get started.

The self-education was too disconnected from the market, which motivated her to look into bootcamps.

Many of the bootcamps required students to be present, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, and a commute to be on location.

She was close to giving up, until she saw a Nucamp ad, which offered a flexible schedule, a location nearby, and an unmatched price.

What advice do you have for people who are thinking about attending a bootcamp, but haven't yet registered?

"Close your eyes and jump right away. Do you really want to pursue this? A bootcamp isn't for someone who's just thinking about it mildly. This is for real career change. You get the right amount of boost. I would discourage self-teaching. You learn the right amount of info when it's needed. Just make sure you have 2-3 hours a day. If you can dedicate this for 6 months, you can really change your life."
