What Exactly Is Changing?

Starting right now, when you register for the Web Development Fundamentals bootcamp that begins on Monday March 27, 2023, or begins at a later date, you will have more scheduling choices for your weekend workshop. Specifically, you will be able to:

  • Choose either Saturday or Sunday
  • Choose from a selection of start times

Depending on which community you have selected on Nucamp.co, and what workshops are available for your start date, it's possible you may see up to 3 start times for Saturday and up to 3 start times for Sunday.

The new day and time selections will be available for ALL bootcamps that begin in May 2023, or after.

Now, you might be asking yourself: "Will I be able to attend a different workshop on any given week, for example, a Saturday one week, and maybe Sunday another week?"

The short answer is no, with one caveat, but there's a good reason why.

One of the benefits of Nucamp is having a classroom of peers in your bootcamp, and no more than 15 in a classroom.

In order to ensure that level of quality, we need to be able to identify which students are in which class, which means we don't want students hopping around from one to the next.

That said, changing your workshop day will be handled the same as rescheduling your bootcamp, which costs $79 the first time, then $99 for each additional time you reschedule. If you need to reschedule, reach out to studentadmin@nucamp.co.

Why Sunday?

We had a lot of ideas and a number of good reasons why specific days and times could work to expand our bootcamp schedule for workshops, but in the end, we ran a survey with our audience and asked them, including not only which day would be preferred, but what time during the day.

Sunday morning was the top response, and it wasn't even close. While that doesn't work for everyone, our goal is to serve you, our audience, the best we can, and so that's why we decided on Sunday mornings.

What Does This Mean For Instructors?

For a long time, many of our instructors have been expressing a desire to teach more and it's been our goal to give them that opportunity—and now we can.

Instructors will be able to choose Saturday, Sunday, or both as it's completely optional. Therefore, for any instructor that wants to continue to teach only 1 workshop per week, they have that option, and they can stick with Saturday if they prefer.

For many, they are eager to teach more.

"I have been an instructor at Nucamp for over a year. I look forward towards each and every cohort as I get an opportunity to help more people reach their programming goals. It is humbling and rewarding to have been programming in the industry for 24 years now and have the ability to give back by helping others learn how to program. The more times I can teach the better!"
Joanna Gilberti, Nucamp Instructor
